Song Heping is a Han, graduated from Dept. of Ethnic Minority Language and Literature, Central Institute for Nationalities in 1966. She is Senior Researcher at Institute of Ethnic Literature, CASS. Her research interests in Manchu literature with distinction of Shamanistic studies. She is author of Nishan saman yanjiu (A Study on Nishan Shaman, 1998), and Manzu saman shenge yizhu (Translation with Annotations of Manchu Shaman Sacred-Songs, 1993), coauthor of Manzu saman wenben yanjiu (Research of Manchu Shaman Texts, 1997).
