The Department consists of two disciplines – the Ethnic Minority Literature and Folkloristics – with more than 15 research directions that offer M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. The two disciplines operate both independently and cooperatively to offer students a rich environment for the study of ethnic minority literary creativities and expressive forms.
The nexus of Ethnic Minority Literature and Folkloristics, located in in one department, fosters the integration of common interests, while department resources and faculty specializations allow for concentrated exploration of interests particular to each area.
